Flashbacks and a Birthday

Lately when I look at Russell I find myself catching glimpses of another little boy I use to know.

(Russell 2 1/2 yrs old)

(Raistlin 2 1/2 yrs old)

A little boy with dirty blonde hair, the very same color as Russell's...The same big round chubby cheeks...The same beautiful angelic face.

Lately, when I look at Russell, I see Raistlin.

The other day when we went out for a walk Russell stooped down to pick up some hay he found laying in the road.....

My mind flew back 13 years ago to an image of Raist doing the very same thing...

This happens daily...Little flashbacks here and there of the two year old boy I use to share my days with, triggered by the two year old boy I spend my days with now.

From books...

To cars...

To playing with dogs...

Looking at horses...

We moved back to this Ranch five years ago...It is where we lived when Raist was two...Back when it was just him and I alone together during the day...And now here we are years and years later...And I spend my days alone with another two year old boy...Going on the same walks...Looking at the same things...

And I love it. It is the sweetest feeling.

Today we walked to the bridge...

And there are no words to describe how my heart feels seeing my two boys together...Holding hands...Walking the same walk I have taken many times with both of them.

And as my boys sit down together on the bridge...

I go back in time and see my first little boy...

Today is special...

Because today...

June 15th...At 8:32pm

Raistlin Jared Daniel 

Was born

And I became a Mother.

Happy 15th Birthday Raist...We love you.

On a side note...Many people ask how his name is pronounced...It sounds like this...

"Race Lynn"

The "T" is silent...

We usually just call him Race :)
